What is Freecharge Pay Later?

Freecharge Pay Later is a monthly credit facility of upto Rs. 5,000 that is available for select registered users of Freecharge. This provides a seamless one click payment experience to make purchases/payments on Freecharge or its merchants/partners and repay the dues with upto 30 days of credit period. This credit facility is extended by Freecharge’s lending partner- Axis bank. You can shop at partner stores like Swiggy, BigBasket, Myntra and even recharge and pay utility bills on the Freecharge app with just a click. After making all payments, you get a single bill and you can track all your expenses at one place.

How can I register for Freecharge Pay Later?

If you are eligible, open the Freecharge Android App, click on Freecharge Pay Later and follow the on-screen instructions: 

a) Provide your PAN details

b) Provide your personal and professional details 

c) Complete your OTP based Aadhaar eKYC 

d) Agree to the terms and activate Pay Later

Where can I check my approved Freecharge Pay Later balance?

Your approved Freecharge Pay Later balance along with your monthly billing cycle details, due date, transaction and repayment history can be accessed from your Freecharge Pay Later dashboard. Click on the Pay Later tile on the Home page of the Android App to access the dashboard.

Where can I use Freecharge Pay Later?

You can use Freecharge Pay Later for payments on the Freecharge platform e,g, Mobile, DTH, Electricity, Landline, Broadband etc. and to pay at Merchants where Freecharge Pay Later is accepted. You can shop at partner stores like Swiggy, BigBasket, Myntra and even recharge and pay utility bills on the Freecharge app with just a click. After making all payments, you get a single bill and you can track all your expenses at one place

What is the maximum amount which can be provided as Freecharge Pay Later balance?

The maximum amount which can be provided as Freecharge Pay Later balance is Rs. 5,000 for a monthly billing cycle. The amount will vary from person to person.

Is there any Processing Fee?

Yes, the annual processing fee of Rs. 199 will be charged by Axis Bank.

What is the billing cycle for Freecharge Pay Later?

There is a single monthly billing cycle starting from the 5th of every month and ending on the 4th of following month.

Will I be charged Interest?

Yes, interest will be charged by Axis Bank on only the amount used from the Freecharge Pay Later balance and the applicable interest amount will be included in the total due amount. However, on successful repayment of Freecharge Pay Later dues, the equivalent interest amount will be credited as cashback by Freecharge in the Freecharge Wallet of the customer. The rate of interest will be communcated to the customer in the final terms post generation of Freecharge Pay Later offer. 

Please note: Amount added as cashback/promotional offers/vouchers cannot be withdrawn to your bank account.

When is my Freecharge Pay Later repayment due?

For payments done using Freecharge Pay Later during 5th of the month to 4th of the next month, the repayment will be due on 5th of the next month. 

How can I repay the Freecharge Pay Later dues?

The total amount due can be repayed using Freecharge UPI ID or Debit Card. The option to setup eNACH mandate will be offered soon

Can I repay before the due date?

Currently, Freecharge Pay Later dues can be paid only on the due date. Please check this space to get latest updates.

What is the order of debit if a transaction is done using Freecharge Pay Later combined with Freecharge Wallet?

The order of debit is Pay Freecharge Later first and then Freecharge Wallet.

Is there any restriction on usage of Freecharge Pay Later?

Freecharge Pay Later can not be used to purchase Gold, Deals, Gift Cards, Mutual Funds. Freecharge Pay Later balance is non- transferable and can not be withdrawn in bank account. Freecharge Pay Later balance can not be used to add money in your Freecharge wallet. Also, the transaction amount cannot exceed Rs. 2000 if full or partial payment is being made using Freecharge Pay Later.

What is the break up of my Freecharge Pay Later due amount?

Your due amount consists of the following :

1.Utilized amount

2.Interest applicable

However, on successful repayment of Freecharge Pay Later dues, the equivalent interest amount will be credited as cashback by Freecharge in your Freecharge Wallet.

What will happen if I do not repay on time?

Please repay your Freecharge Pay Later dues on Due Date in order to get the Pay Later balance for the next billing cycle and to continue using Freecharge Pay Later. Delayed repayment will attract Late Fee and will impact your CIBIL score.

Why was my Freecharge Pay Later account auto-closed?

If you haven’t transacted even once using Freecharge Pay Later within 30 days of activation, your account gets auto-closed.

Can I repay partial amount?

Currently, the Freecharge Pay Later dues can be paid only in full. There is no option for partial repayment of dues.
